GOOD Based on 76 reviews Posted on LushesFaithVerified Nice enough The waiter Nelson(?) (Portuguese) was amazing. He did a fab job. The menu was limiting but it just may be their way to ensure everything runs smooth. Some chose to have starters as mains which restaurant was fine with. Presentation perfect and scenery was beautiful. I didnt like the bar stools they were too high I should have sat on the bench side but you live and you learn. Overall a nice evening and the price was actually decentPosted on lawrenceclaxtonVerified Nice little gem after the Match Went here before and after the football. Staff really friendly and service was excellent.Wanted the Nanwich but was told it finished so went for the tikka and garlic naan! It was delicious.Posted on MikeN1568Verified Delicious food First visit to Nicco and we will definitely be returning. Quality food and excellent service. Nice vibe in the restaurant. Would recommendPosted on Michele JVerified Birthday Treat The restaurant is beautiful clean and spacious ! Our food was really good and decent sized portions ! We went in quite early so lots of staff standing about chatting especially around the food service area which is a bit off putting ! However the staff member who served us was a really lovely member of staff Courtney, she was really attentive and very professional. She asked if we were celebrating anything at the start of taking the orders it was our daughters Birthday...to our surprise after our mains were cleared away she appeared with cake and candle and a selection of staff sang happy birthday this was a lovely touch Thankyou Niccos ! The cocktails are also 2 for 1 up to a certain time and they do lunch time specials also . A great place !Posted on RealFoodieGirlVerified Never disappoints Always a great meal here. Good quality ingredients, fresh and hot, served in an imaginative way. Good veggie choice too. We like the open kitchens too, great to see the master chefs at work! One niggle would be the 2 for 1 cocktails though. I would question the alcohol content. I could barely taste any alcohol for all the fruit juice and didn't feel tipsy at all after 2 cocktails (normally I would feel it half way down the first drink!). Please can management look into this, it was a disappointing part to the meal. Other than that, the food is fabulous.Posted on si888-1Verified Overpriced and very small portions Me and my partner went here for a romantic meal. We are used to Indian fine dinning, so we were looking forward to enjoying something to eat here. I was shocked to see the menu as this was very limited and the chicken curry dishes felt very similar with not much choice. We ordered something from the grill and a chicken curry, however there was no mention of the level of spice which made it rather bland. When our food arrived we thought they were starters due to the portion size, even though we never ordered any starters. The nan bread was as thin as a piece of paper and the rice came in a bowl that wasn't authentic and was the size of a baby's portion. The two for one cocktails were just full of ice and very little alcohol. After we had our so called meal i was still very hungry and had already racked up a bill of over £48 for 2 mains, 2 side dishers and 2 drinks which i was starving afterwards. The only positive note I can think of is that we were not waiting very long for our meal which begs the question that the food was already pre cooked and not fresh at allPosted on ChrisNHagueVerified Chris Hague Went on 21st July at lunchtime with my sister, her first visit my 4th,l had boasted about the food and service, it did not disappoint, welcome was great, food superb and service impeccable. To start the restaurant ambiance was just perfect. Loved the decor and how they had laid out the restaurant for the diners. Now onto the food, let me put this simply it is now the restaurant to beat in Derby hands down. The food was amazing cooked to perfection and the best curry I have had in Derby. Staff were attentive and friendly but as with all good restaurants they never bothered you to much and were their when we needed to order. Fully recommend this restaurant if in the area. 5 starsPosted on vetkazdVerified Amazing. Post graduation meal for family. Amazing cocktails. Amazing curry. Amazing service. We shall return. The cauliflower salad and the chicken curry were outstanding. Friendly knowledgable staff. Good atmosphere. We felt looked after. We don’t often eat curry out as we can cook at home but this was great value and good quality.Posted on Flyer42895499649Verified Date Night Recommended to us by our daughter. Food was amazing and Zam our waiter was lovely. Can’t believe how busy the place was for a Thursday night. Only got table for 1 1/4 hours as it was booked for later so advise that you book in advance. Will not be disappointed and this is now our new Indian
